Походы землепроходцев к рекам Лене, Индигирке, Колыме и Охоте

Кратко раскрывается процесс продвижения русских служивых, промышленных и гулящих людей от Урала и Зауралья на восток, к рекам Лене, Индигирке, Колыме и Охоте. Подчёркивается, что в основе этого полустихийного движения лежало стремление землепроходцев добыть шкурки пушных зверей для царской казны и приведения к ясаку местных жителей Сибири.

EXPEDITIONS OF THE PATHFINDERS TO THE RIVERS LENA, INDIGIRKA, KOLYMA, AND OKHOTA
This article briefly describes the movement of Russian servicemen, industrialists, and free settlers from the Urals and Trans-Urals eastward to the rivers Lena, Indigirka, Kolyma, and Okhota. It emphasizes that the semi-spontaneous movement was driven by the pathfinders; intent to acquire fur pelts for the Tsar's treasury and to impose yasak (tribute) on the indigenous people of Siberia.
